Course summary

This program focuses on the administration of recreation programs and qualifies the student for positions with public recreation, voluntary agencies, residential institutions, and camp administration. This option also prepares the student for employment in a modern collegiate recreation program.

Program modules

The courses are:An Introduction to Leisure, Outdoor Recreation and Education, Recreation Leadership, Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities, Planning and Operating Recreation Areas and Facilities, Recreation Programming, Field Experiences in Recreation, Internship Seminar, Internship in Recreation, Financial Accounting, Introduction to Information Analysis and Design, Introduction to Economic Statistics and Econometrics, Elementary Statistical Reasoning, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, Law and Society, Fundamentals of Human Communication, Advertising Principles, Advertising Principles, Introduction to Ethics, Business Ethics.

Entry requirement for international students

Admission requirements are as follows for different countries: Students from India must possess Higher Secondary Certificate, Indian School Certificate or All India and Delhi Senior School Certificate with a grade of 75%. Students from Indonesia must have completed DANEM/SMA with grades of 7/10. Pakistan students must possess Intermediate or Higher Secondary School Certificate with a 55%. Students from Malaysia must have completed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with a 6 passes grade 6 or lower. Students from Myanmar should have a Bachelors degree with grade point of 3.5/5. Students from Saudi Arabia must have General Secondary Education Certificate with 75%. Singapore students must complete the Singapore-Cambridge GCSE O Levels with 6 passes graded D or higher. Students from China should have Senior Middle School Certificate with B/80%. Students from United Kingdom should have completed GCSE with 6 passes graded C or higher. Scores of ACT or SAT and TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based, 213 on the computer-based, 80 on the internet based or a score of 6.5 on the IELTS exam are required.
