Course summary
This program's curriculum is designed to insure that Sociology and Criminal Justice students are prepared to immediately take their place in the world of work and service as soon as they graduate. With experience in conducting social research, graduates find wide-ranging opportunities to apply their skills in the world of work. In addition, the Sociology Department provides all of its students with several opportunities to engage in 'Service Learning' courses that give them direct experience with some of the society's most serious social problems.
Program modules
The modules include SOC 1011 - Introductory Sociology, SOC 1021 - Social Problems, SOC 2111 - Classical Sociological Theory, SOC 2121-2131 - Social Research Methods I-II, SOC 2841-2851 - Research Seminar.
Entry requirement for international students
TOEFL/IELTS or SAT/ACT scores will be considered for admission. International applicants who are academically qualified but do not demonstrate English language proficiency may be considered for conditional admission to Saint Joseph’s University through the English Program for International Students (EPIS).
