Course summary
This program prepares scientists to advance nursing practice and education through research and scholarly activity, and teaching. Rigorous research training is offered for persons contemplating careers in academia or in health agencies, especially individuals anticipating careers in designing and conducting research. The BS-PhD allows students to obtain an MS with a major in Nursing as they progress toward a PhD.

Entry requirement for international students
Students should have a bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited nursing program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at bachelor’s level. They should have scored competitively on the quantitative, verbal and analytic portions of the GRE. Students should have a minimum TOEFL total score of 79 on the internet-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. The TOEFL requirement may be waived if the students meets one of the following conditions: have scored 500 or higher on the GRE verbal test; earned a college degree at a U.S. institution of higher learning; earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript) or scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
