Course summary
This program offered with the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University (New Brunswick), is composed of three (3) years of undergraduate study in the Department of Biology and Molecular Biology or the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Montclair State, and four (4) years of study in the Professional phase of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at Rutgers. During the three years at Montclair State, the student would complete all the requirements for the two pre-professional years in the standard Doctor of Pharmacy Program, plus take additional course work in the chosen major and complete Montclair State's General Education requirements. After the completion of the first (professional) year at Rutgers, the student would receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State in the chosen major (Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry).
Entry requirement for international students
Students wishing to matriculate in this area must have completed a bachelor’s degree. Graduate students must demonstrate communication skills that will not interfere with clinical practice. A student who is judged to have questionable skills will be referred to a faculty panel for further evaluation. If necessary the student will be referred for assistance. Students requiring assistance will be reevaluated before they are allowed to enroll for clinical practice. Enrollment in clinical practice will be postponed until communication skills are judged to be sufficient. Student must complete GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL are administered worldwide by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Test of English as a Foreign Language/Internet Based Test where available (TOEFL/ IBT) is required of all students whose native language is not English and whose degree was obtained in a country where English is not the official language.
