Course summary
In this program students complete a series of level examinations to progress, and a capstone project. The final two semesters consist of a required full-time off-campus field experience (clinical residency). The program is compatible with ASHA certification requirements. Students are eligible for certification by the Alabama State Board of Education and for licensure by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA). Those who are with undergraduate background in Communication disorders in audiology graduate after eleven academic semesters, including a clinical residency during which they will work full-time for a period of nine months in the final year of the program. And students without undergraduate background in communication disorders with careful scheduling and scheduling of undergraduate prerequisite courses, they will be able to complete the doctorate in about four and a half years.

Entry requirement for international students
Students to be considered for admission must have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. They must have scored Grade Point Average over the last 60 semester hours (100 quarter hours) of coursework taken or exceed score of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Additionally, students should also demonstrate "B" average of higher in their major. They must have scored GRE of 1000 or higher in both verbal and quantitative. Also students whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency in English language either with a TOEFL scores of at least 550 on the written test (213 on the computer based test, 79 on the Internet Based Test with 16 in each section) or IELTS scores of at least 6.5.
