Course summary
The Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree is designed for occupational therapists who wish to move into roles as leading clinicians, managers, leaders and educators. The program stresses a strong mentorship model in which students work closely with a faculty member to complete a program tailored to the student's career goals. Students are required to complete advanced coursework, practicum experience, field exam and project involving applied scholarship.
Program modules
The course work includes OT 500 Theories of Occupational Therapy, OT 510 Research in Occupational Therapy, OT 530, 531,532 Advanced Field Practicum in Clinical Specialization, Education, Management or Applied Research, OT 590 Doctoral Proseminar in Occupational Therapy and OT 595 Seminar in Occupational Therapy.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the final 60 semester hours of undergraduate work and all post-baccalaureate credit, GRE general test score of 1000 minimum combined for verbal and quantitative, letters of recommendation and personal statement. For international students, TOEFL score of 550 for paper based is required.
