Course summary
Students of exceptional ability, as demonstrated in a master’s degree program or in previous courses, may pursue a program leading to the doctoral degree. Although the master’s degree is not a requirement for the Ph.D. degree, the experience gained in writing a master’s thesis or independent study project is valuable.Two basic plans are offered: for the program without thesis, MATH 590 (three credit hours) must be completed; for the program with thesis, MATH 591 (six credit hours) must be completed.
Entry requirement for international students
Student must be a graduate of an accredited high school with a minimum grade-point. A computer-administered TOEFL score of 207 or paper-administered score of 540 is used as a guide for admission.
