Course summary
This program has a greater emphasis on research compared with the M.S. degree and is geared toward successfully mastering a body of skills and knowledge in preparation for a career as an independent scholar. This degree is recommended for those who expect to engage in a professional career in research, teaching or technical work of an advanced nature.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have a baccalaureate degree in civil/ environmental engineering or in related engineering fields (aerospace, chemical and mechanical). Students with undergraduate backgrounds in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics may be admitted into the program contingent upon the fulfillment of specified undergraduate prerequisites to be determined from the applicant's credentials. The GRE General Test scores are recommended. International students must have obtained minimum TOEFL scores of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test and 80 on internet-based test.
