Course summary
The Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction is an interdisciplinary degree program involving the Departments of English; Mathematics; Middle, Secondary, and K-12 Education; Reading and Elementary Education; and many others across the UNC Charlotte campus. Urban Education with research and theory applied to critical social issues affecting schools and society from a historical, contemporary, and theoretical perspective in a global context. In order to address the complexities of urban schooling, this program is interdisciplinary and draws on education, public policy, sociology, anthropology, and ethnic studies.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Student should have earned at least an overall grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) in the graduate degree program. Addition to Graduate Application Instructions regarding minimum required English Language Proficiency Scores: TOEFL (Test Of English As A Foreign Language). Minimum required score: 83 (internet based test), 220 (computer based test), 557 (paper based test). IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Minimum required score: 6.5 overall band score. MELAB (Michigan English Language Battery) Minimum required score: 78
