Course summary
This program is intended to give persons of outstanding ability the opportunity to become creative contributors in a scholarly field. Award of the degree testifies to broad mastery of an established subject area, acquisition of acceptable research skills, and a concentration of knowledge in a specific field. Within the curriculum and instruction field of study, students may concentrate in elementary or secondary education with areas of emphasis being any of the following - Elementary Education: general elementary education, reading/language arts education. Secondary Education: English, agriculture, mathematics, reading/language arts, science, social sciences/history, world languages.

Entry requirement for international students
Students must hold a masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.5. Students should have the test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) minimum overall score of 580 for the paper-based test, 237 for the computer-based test. Students must submit the application form along with all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, GRE scores (verbal and quantitative), academic writing sample, vita, personal goal statement, three reference letters, and evidence of K-12 or other relevant teaching experience.
