The School of Education and Human Services at Oakland University provides many innovative educational programs for undergraduate and graduate study. This university has five unique residence halls located near the heart of campus, where all on- campus classrooms, computer labs, student services, recreational and dining facilities, and the library are less than a 10- minute walk away. To be eligible to reside in residence halls or apartments, students must be: (a) formally admitted to the University as matriculated or conditionally admitted students in a degree program at the University and enrolled in a minimum of 8 credit hours during each fall or winter semester, and 4 credit hours for each spring or summer semester, in which they reside in residence Halls or apartments; (b) matriculated students in a degree program at another college or university that has an affiliation agreement with the University; or (c) participating in the University’s hostel program or authorized summer camp programs. A variety of living arrangements and special interest programs are available to meet the needs and interests of each student. Options include single rooms, double rooms and suites; private bathrooms and community bathrooms; coeducational floors; nonsmoking buildings; and learning communities. Most residence hall students share a bedroom with another person. However, a limited number of single rooms are sometimes available. Many services are available to residence hall students for no additional charge. Some of those services include: Cable Television, Computer/Internet Service, Laundry Service, Telephone Service and Meal Plans. Students living in the residence halls must select a meal plan, which is included in the total cost for room and board. Each plan gives students the opportunity to eat at any of the dining locations on campus. Room and board for residence hall students costs $3,550.00 per semester for a double room or $3,995.00 per semester for a single room. This housing office is located on the 4th floor (ground floor) of Hamlin Hall.
