Course summary
This program will prepare graduates for careers in industrial/organizational psychological research, consulting, and instruction with emphasis on employee issues, organizational development, human resource management, and research expertise. It engages learners in academic inquiry into organizations and human behavior in the world of work, with foundational coursework in the history and functions of I/O psychology as well as an intensive, rigorous research curriculum. Through these dual emphases, the program challenges learners to develop the habits of mind and critical dispositions required to produce complex, yet practical, inquiry aimed at organizational and human development. Furthermore, the program explores the ethical aspects of I/O psychology practice, ensuring that learners respect and work toward enhancing the well being of the people whom they serve.

The modules are as follows: PSYCH700 Introduction to I/O, PSYCH701 History and Systems of Psychology, PSYCH702 Social Psychology, PSYCH703 Personality Theories, ORG714 Organizational Theory and Design, PSYCH704 Current and Future Topics, RES731 Research Methods and Statistics in I/O (I), RES732 Research Methods and Statistics for I/O (II), RES733 Criterion Development, Performance Evaluation, and Appraisal, PSYCH705 Personnel Psychology, PSYCH706 Human Performance, Assessment, and Feedback, ORG730 Organization Development, PSYCH707 Leadership and Management Theory.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must possess a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. All International Students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 213 or minimum Berlitz score of 550 if their native language is not English. Three years of professional work experience with current or a record of past employment in a leadership position is required. Students should have a laptop computer with internet access which must be brought to residencies and also have a membership in a research library.
