Course summary
The goal of this program is to produce graduates who have unique and needed capabilities for addressing problems regarding drug use control in this society. Students are required to complete a minimum of 70 semester credit hours (including hours transferred from the student's master’s work). The 70 hours includes a minimum requirement of 60 credits of course work (which also includes one hour per semester of PCS graduate research seminar) and 10 hours of dissertation research. Graduates of this program will be prepared to enter careers in various settings, including academia, health outcomes research firms, consulting firms, the pharmaceutical industry, health care delivery/managed care organizations, professional associations, pharmacies, hospitals, etc.
Entry requirement for international students
Students to be considered for admission must have a bachelors degree in pharmacy or a related discipline with grade point averages (A = 4.0, D = 1.0) and GRE verbal and quantitative scores of more than 400 in each, and as necessary to achieve a minimum score of 450. Students with both the bachelors degree and a graduate degree in pharmacy or a related discipline should have grade point averages (A = 4.0, D = 1.0) and with a minimum GRE score of 700. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency with a TOEFL score of 550 or greater in paper based or 213 or greater in computer based, and 79 on the internet version (iBT). Additionally, successful applicants must score minimums of 16 on the listening, reading, speaking, and writing components of the iBT.
