Course summary
This program prepares students for independent research and scholarship in the field, and to help them develop the necessary intellectual and pedagogical skills for teaching philosophy. The requirements and review processes are designed so that all seminar and most non-seminar work will be completed by the end of the third year, leaving the fourth year for dissertation research and writing.

Entry requirement for international students
Students must hold a masters degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Applicants whose first or native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English prior to matriculation. To be considered for admission, an applicant must present an acceptable score on the TOEFL or IELTS test. They should have obtained a minimum score of 550 on paper based test, 213 on computer based test and, 80 on internet based test. An overall score of at least 6.5 with no sub-section below 6 is required on the International English Language Testing System exam (IELTS).
