Course summary
This is an interdisciplinary concentration housed within the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health. HCC prepares students who are interested in health communication to apply rigorous, theory-based research and methods to health and risk communication and to apply and evaluate health communication technologies. Graduates pursue positions in academia, research, public health communication, policymaking, journalism, or communication professions.
Entry requirement for international students
A bachelors degree or its equivalent, earned at a college or its equivalent either in the United States or overseas, is normally required for entrance to any of the graduate or professional schools. International students enrolled at Harvard University must be able to read English with ease, to understand rapid, idiomatic English as spoken in lectures and group discussions, and to express thoughts quickly and clearly in spoken and written English. A student who is not proficient in English at the time of application should not apply for admission. Applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an English-speaking university may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicants should consult each individual school about test requirements and minimum acceptable scores.
