Course summary

This program provides education in physical and cognitive development, health problems of children and their families, relevant health services and policies, appropriate research methods, and program planning and evaluation. Graduates pursue leadership roles in academia or other areas of public health.

Entry requirement for international students

A bachelors degree or its equivalent, earned at a college or its equivalent either in the United States or overseas, is normally required for entrance to any of the graduate or professional schools. International students enrolled at Harvard University must be able to read English with ease, to understand rapid, idiomatic English as spoken in lectures and group discussions, and to express thoughts quickly and clearly in spoken and written English. A student who is not proficient in English at the time of application should not apply for admission. Applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an English-speaking university may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicants should consult each individual school about test requirements and minimum acceptable scores.
