Course summary
This program is designed to prepare nursing leaders for the highest level of professional nursing practice beyond the initial preparation in the discipline. Doctoral nursing practice encompasses advanced clinical practice that influences health care outcomes for individuals, families and populations, including the direct care of individual patients, management of care for individuals and populations, administration of nursing and health care organizations, and the development and implementation of health policy.
Entry requirement for international students
Admission to this degree requires a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with a Grade Point Average of at least 3.00 on 4.00 for the final 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate study and for all graduate work, must submit GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, one page personal statement of about 300 words, in the language of the applicant’s intended specialization and a sample of academic writing. For international students, TOEFL score of 550 for paper based, 213 for computer based, 80 for internet based with subscores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Speaking 20, and Writing 21 is required.
