Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed a program of secondary education. Students should have an average of at least 3.5 in the major and at least a 3.3 overall GPA. The University of Pennsylvania requires that all freshman applicants take the SAT Reasoning Test and two SAT Subject Tests, or the ACT with writing. Students whose native language is not English should demonstrate the following; TOEFL-IBT exam (Internet-Based Test), the minimum score is an 80, but Penn tends to admit students with a score of 100 and above, On the Paper- Based the minimum score is a 550, but Penn tends to admit students with a score of 600 and above. On the Computer-Based TOEFL exam, the minimum composite score is 220, but Penn tends to admit students with scores of 260 or above. If a student scores higher than a 650 on the Critical Reading Section of the SAT Reasoning Test, then the student is exempt from taking the TOEFL exam.
