The Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult & Higher Education recently underwent a minor reorganization with the addition of social foundations of education faculty and courses to the department and with that adopted a new, more inclusive (and shorter!) name - the Department of Professional Programs in Education. The Department of Professional Programs in Education still offers graduate programs in counseling (school and mental health), educational leadership for school administrators, and adult and higher education, plus provides courses in the psychological and social foundations of education for a variety of programs across campus. The department is also the administrative home for the Adult Education Academy for Professional Development, the Adult Learning Center, and MSU's Clearinghouse for Child Abuse Prevention.

The Office of Student Housing will be providing a variety of summer housing options this year for all four of MSU's summer terms. In addition to providing options for traditional double occupancy rooms (and private rooms), a limited number of spaces in year-round housing facilities will also be available (Fields Hall, Thompson Hall, and University Apartments). If you have questions about summer housing, please contact the Housing office or speak to your Hall Director. Applications for summer housing can be picked up in the Housing Office (Thompson Hall). The priority deadline for applications is May 2, 2008; apply early to ensure your preference is available. All residence halls will close for the Spring Semester on Saturday, May 10, 2008, 5:00 p.m. Morehead State University’s On-Campus Residency Policy requires all full-time students under the age of 21 who have earned fewer than 60 University recognized college credit hours to live on campus and subscribe to the applicable dining requirement. Students must be 21 by the first day of class to fulfill residency requirement. All exemption requests must be received prior to July 15 for the fall Semester and December 1 for the spring semester. Exemption requests submitted after the deadline will be subject to a $100.00 late application-processing fee. This fee is required for exemption requests submitted after the semester deadline and does not guarantee an exemption will be approved.
