Course summary

Degree Requirements: Thirty points of courses dealing with human rights are required. No transfer credit is given for courses taken outside Columbia. Degree requirements listed here should be read in conjunction with the general requirements for the Liberal Studies M.A. degree (see below under Liberal Studies: General Degree Requirements). Degree requirements are as follows: Fifteen points in general human rights courses, including: HRTS G4020 (Introduction to Human Rights), One approved course on Human Rights and International Organizations, One approved course on International Law (for example HRTS G4800: International Law), Two general human rights courses chosen from the recommended course list.

Entry requirement for international students

To be admitted to these schools, the applicant must have completed a degree considered in the United States to be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
