Course summary
This program prepares students to pursue the professional role of clinical mental health counselor. This is a nationally recognized field in the practice of mental health. Professional counselors typically hold a license as an LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor (currently applicable in Minnesota and Wisconsin) and/or a license as an LPCC - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Clinical mental health counselors work in numerous settings that provide education and mental health services to individuals, couples, and families. In terms of course work and professional preparation, clinical mental health counselors vary from marriage and family therapists in that the clinical counselor's focus is more on individual growth and development.

Entry requirement for international students
Students submit a baccalaureate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution. A cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. 12 quarter (9 semester) credits in psychology or a related field. A completed application file, which includes an interview. Official Transcript Please arrange to have an official transcript from the institution which granted student bachelor’s degree sent directly from that institution. Student official transcript must indicate that a bachelor’s degree was conferred. Student may also submit official transcripts reflecting other undergraduate or graduate level education.
