Course summary

Partners in Education (PIE) is a unique opportunity for novice (first, second or third year) teachers to earn their master’s degree with an explicit focus on their classroom experience while working with professors at a prestigious, nationally ranked university. PIE teachers work as full-time teachers for one year at a reduced salary while earning credits toward a master's degree at CU-Boulder’s School of Education. The PIE program is a cooperative venture with the School of Education at CU-Boulder and our partner districts: Adams County District 1–Mapleton, Adams County District 12 Five Star Schools, Adams County District 50, Boulder Valley, Brighton School District 27J, Fort Lupton and St. Vrain Valley Schools.

Entry requirement for international students

For admission official certified transcripts of previous academic records are expected. All records should be submitted in the native language, and credentials written in languages other than English must be accompanied by a literal, certified English translation. Diplomas or certificates of government or university examinations must show the subjects passed and grades/marks received. Students from China and India must be particularly careful to submit complete official academic credentials. Every page of each document must bear an original stamp or seal of the institution. Chinese students must submit transcripts and diplomas, both in Chinese and English and must submit diplomas showing every degree awarded. Students from India must submit individual marksheets for each semester or year, in addition to separate diplomas showing every degree awarded. Spain and all Latin American countries must submit transcripts and diplomas in both the native language and English and, as appropriate, must submit the official Titulo or Grado/Grau diploma for every degree awarded. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for admission to many graduate departments and is considered valuable for all others. Departments that require GRE scores are identified on the Information and Application Instructions for International Students. Direct any inquiries regarding these examinations to the department in which you intend to study. Students applying to the Leeds School of Business, are required to present scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). English Language Requirement/TOEFL: Students are not required to submit the TOEFL if their native language is English, or they have completed at least one year of full-time study at a U.S. institution, or at an institution in a country where English is the native language, at the time they apply, and within two years from students desired admission term.
