Course summary
This program addresses the design, manufacture, and characterization of engineering materials for specific applications. Materials development is an enabling step to the production of advanced engineering devices. Materials selection is a key element in the design, manufacturing, and quality control of structures and devices. Materials, including metals, intermetallics, polymers, ceramics, composites and electronic materials are critical to modern industrial society.
Entry requirement for international students
Admission to this program requires a baccalaureate degree in Civil engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the final 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of undergraduate study, GRE general test score of 1100 for both verbal and quantitative, writing sample and three letters of recommendation. For international students, TOEFL score of 600 for paper version, 250 for computer version, 80 for iBT is required.
