Course summary
Agricultural and Applied Economics applies economic principles to food and fiber production, natural resource management, community and regional economic development, environmental policy, and international trade. Students take courses in economic theory, econometrics, statistics, accounting, technical agriculture, and the physical and biological sciences. A flexible offering of electives allows students to tailor the AAE major to meet their particular interests and career objectives. Agricultural and Applied Economics provides a strong theoretical background for those entering graduate schools in agricultural economics, economics, and professional schools in law and business administration.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should be a high school graduate. They should have an official SAT-I verbal score of 430 or higher; an official TOEFL score of at least 80 on the Internet-based exam or 213 on the computer-based version. TOEFL scores must be less than two years old if you have not been studying at a U.S. institution since taking the exam; an official IELTS score of 7.0 or higher and should take equivalent of English 1101 and 1102 (first-year composition) at an accredited U.S. institution and earn a minimum 2.5 combined GPA for the two courses.
