Course summary
This program serves students who wish to build an educational background for a variety of interesting careers. A chemistry graduate is ready for immediate employment either as a chemical technician or as a chemist in government, industry or academia. Chemistry offers excellent preparation for professional schools including medicine, dentistry, veterinary science or for graduate work in chemistry. Careers can be found in any of the traditional areas of chemistry as well as in forensic science, materials science, environmental science, food chemistry, paper chemistry, water chemistry, agricultural chemistry, petroleum chemistry, geochemistry, polymer chemistry, paint and coatings chemistry and scientific writing and/or art.

Entry requirement for international students
Applicant must have completed the units of high school coursework. A unit represents a year’s study of a subject and a well-rounded high school academic program might include the following: English 4 units, Mathematics 3 units, Social Studies 2 units, Natural Science 2 units, and academic electives (foreign language, additional units of math, science, etc). They must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 or higher.
