Course summary
This option qualifies the student to teach biology, zoology and general science in grades 5-12. Graduates of this program pursue classroom teaching in public or private middle or high schools; others go on to seek advanced degrees in special education, literacy, educational administration, curriculum and instruction, school counseling or school psychology.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicant must have completed the units of high school coursework. A unit represents a year’s study of a subject and a well-rounded high school academic program might include the following: English 4 units, Mathematics 3 units, Social Studies 2 units, Natural Science 2 units, and academic electives (foreign language, additional units of math, science, etc). They must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 or higher.
