Course summary

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences is offering a two-phase educational program to prepare nurse educators. To serve the established shortage of qualified, credentialed nursing faculty in Utah and across the nation, this program will help develop the teaching abilities to make the transition from practice to academia. In addition, there is an identified need in health care settings across Utah for staff development educators who hold the appropriate teaching credentials. Administrators in health care organizations indicate that they promote nurses from within the organization into staff educator roles.

Entry requirement for international students

The applicant must satisfy the following minimum requirements for admission: essay questions, two professional recommendations; Employer letter of support; personal resume; GMAT test score; Official college or university transcripts showing proof of baccalaureate degree. International Students must also provide the following material: Bank Statement; Proof of Visa status; English translation of transcripts with explanation of grading systems; Statement of financial responsibility; Recommended TOEFL score of 250 (computer-based test) or 600 (paper-based test) if English is not the native language; Transcripts or test scores are considered official when sent directly from the school or testing service.
