Course summary
This specialization is designed to help students to build the financial analysis and strategic perspective they need to interact effectively with executive management as a partner in making key business decisions. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing middle- to senior-level management positions in financial institutions or finance departments.

Core modules include: Professional Effectiveness: Stretch, Impact, Reposition MBA6010, Leading for Results MBA6020, Marketing and Brand Management MBA6110, Operations and Process Management MBA6130, Applied Managerial Statistics MBA6140, Accounting MBA6150, Financial Management MBA6160, Managing Information Assets and Technology MBA6180 and Strategy MBA6190. Specialization modules: students should select 4 from the following: Financial Markets and Institutions MBA6161, Advanced Finance MBA6162, Bank Management MBA6163, International Financial Management MBA6164, Investment and Portfolio Management MBA6166, Risk Management MBA6167, Corporate Finance Analysis and Decisions MBA6168. In addition should choose 2 from the following: Sales and Customer Relationship Management MBA6120, Building Relationships MBA6210, Developing and Coaching Others MBA6220, Leading Teams MBA6230, Facilitating Change MBA6240, Leveraging Workplace Diversity MBA6250, Negotiating for Results MBA6260, Regulatory and Ethical Environment of Business MBA6270. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is Finance Capstone: Judgment, Planning, and Action MBA6360.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
