Course summary
This program is designed to prepare students for leadership positions on both the buy and sell sides of securities markets, including: Security analysis and portfolio management, Capital markets, Sales and trading, and Private wealth management. The required curriculum includes both a rigorous theoretical component and a demanding applied component. Courses are structured to provide students a nearly comprehensive preparation for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. Most IM concentrators choose to apply to the Applied Investment Management (AIM) course in which students manage real portfolios of financial assets. Historically, UNC Kenan-Flagler has placed about 10 percent of the graduating class in positions involving investment management. The school has alumni in all global financial centers and most major financial corporations.

Entry requirement for international students
The students must have U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent. Have Transcripts from every institution. International candidates must have a college-level education equivalent to an American undergraduate or baccalaureate degree (the same as a first university degree). Generally this is a 4-year degree. There are a number of universities around the world that offer 3-year undergraduate programs. If you received a bachelor's degree upon completion of one of these 3-year undergraduate programs, you are eligible to apply to our program. TOEFL or IELTS Exceptions. Applicants do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score if: You earned an undergraduate degree or graduate degree at a U.S. college or university. Your total education was conducted in English in a native English-speaking country. Special Interview Arrangements. We strongly encourage international students to come to Chapel Hill for a personal interview. If that is not possible, we offer: Phone interviews. Interviews at fairs and receptions we attend around the world. Alumni interviews by invitation only
