Accommodation details

To be eligible for University housing, students must be an admitted student at the University of Louisville. The application for housing is separate from the application for admissions. Because the demand for on-campus housing is very high, submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment. Housing Applications can be completed on-line, requested by phone, or picked up from the Housing and Residence Life Office and the Admissions office. When space is available in the halls, students may request private rooms at an additional charge for the remainder of the semester on a room change form. Requests are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis. The private room option is available in all halls. Housing and Residence Life, however, cannot move roommates to accommodate requests for private rooms. The resident requesting a private room must be in a room without a roommate or be willing to move to an unoccupied room. If requesting a private room after the beginning of the semester, charges will be prorated from the date the resident has private accommodations. Students, who live on campus are required to purchase the Flex Plan. Exceptions to this are those residents who live in Bettie Johnson Hall, Minardi Hall, University Tower Apartments, and Med-Dent. The cost per semester is $995 for First Year Students and $560 for upperclass students. The money is stored on the student ID card which can be used as a debit card at university dining locations. Students participating in the meal plan will get a 6% discount on retail prices. The cost for the meal plan will be automatically added to the student’s University account. Flexi-cash balances will roll over from fall to spring semesters. All unspent flexi-cash at the end of the spring semester will be forfeited by the student.
