Course summary
The Master of Business Administration degree in General Business develops analytical business and general managerial skills within a broad-based business curriculum. Building upon the foundational disciplines of Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing, students customize their program with electives in Business Administration. Graduates will use this highly versatile degree in a wide range of leadership settings including consulting, small businesses, domestic companies and international corporations.
Program modules
The student must have had either the following courses or their equivalent or must take the classes if they not had the bachelor’s degree in business BUS3104 Statistical Analysis I 3 hours, BUS3305 Management Processes and Information Systems 3 hours, BUS3310 Market Structure and Competitive Analysis 3 hours, BUS4113 Accounting and Finance for Managers 3 hours. The required graduate studies are RGS6035 Theory and Application of Research Methods 3 hours, RGS6036 Ethics for Decision Making 3 hours. The major requirements are Economics (ECO) 3 hours, Finance (FIN) 3 hours, Marketing (MKT) 3 hours, Management (MGT) 3 hours, Business Administration Electives 15 hours, MGT6203 Strategic Management 3 hours.
Entry requirement for international students
General requirements apply to all masters’ degrees. The minimum amount of work beyond the bachelor's degree required for a master's degree is 36 semester hours excluding any prerequisite courses that may be required. All courses taken to satisfy course requirements for a master's degree must be taken at the graduate level. Twenty-four (24) semester hours applicable to the degree must be completed at Amberton University. The student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00. No more than six (6) semester hours of credit with a grade of C may be applied toward meeting requirements for a graduate degree. A grade of D may not be applied toward a graduate degree. The student will be allowed to graduate by meeting the requirements for the degree in force at the time of initial enrollment, provided the student is within twenty-four (24) hours of graduating and completes no less than twelve (12) hours per year.
