Course summary
This program was designed for career-minded students with the desire to quickly reach the peaks of their professions. It is a team-based program and is one of the few in North America solely dedicated to providing graduates with the up-to-date information technology and skills required in today's competitive market. The flexible curriculum is based on market demand and is designed to keep pace with changing technologies. In addition, the program combines the technology and internet security portions of the coursework with key information management courses to ensure success in the job opportunities that students may pursue.
Program modules
The concentration courses include ITS 650 Introduction to Information Security - (6) Credits; ITS 660 Cryptography Concepts - (6) Credits; ITS 670 Special Topics in Network Security - (6) Credits. The information technology core courses include ITD 640 Database Design and Implementation - (6) Credits; ITN 620 Enterprise Network Design - (6) Credits; ITP 630 Object-Oriented Application Development - (6) Credits; ITS 610 Information Systems - (6) Credits; ITS 685 Strategic Information Management - (6) Credits.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in the baccalaureate degree earned. Accepted methods for the demonstration of English proficiency include TOEFL score of 550 or higher on the paper based test, 213 or higher on the computer based test and 79 or higher on the internet based test; Advanced Placement International English Language (APIEL) score of 4 or higher; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7 or higher; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80 or higher; University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate Certificate of Advanced English (UCLES CAE) grade of A, B or C; and University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate Certificate of Proficiency in English (UCLES CPE) grade of A, B or C.
