Course summary
The Program in Nutrition and the Program in Applied Physiology offer a joint course of study leading to a 50-53 point Master of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Nutrition (APN). In addition to the core courses in nutrition, students are required to take a core of courses in applied physiology (see section below on APN for more details). The program prepares students to provide individual counseling and group education in nutrition and exercise and to design and implement exercise and nutrition programs in weight control centers, work sites, fitness centers, health centers, schools, and hospitals.

Entry requirement for international students
Prerequisites for the Master's Degree: Human Physiology I and II (2 semesters with labs) or 2 semesters of biology with labs plus 1 semester of human physiology without lab, General/Inorganic Chemistry with lab (1 comprehensive semester), Organic Chemistry with lab (1 comprehensive semester), Biochemistry without lab (1 comprehensive semester), Statistics, Basic/Introductory Nutrition.
