Course summary
The Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Family Studies is an interdisciplinary degree that includes courses from the disciplines of Human Behavior and Development and Counseling. The student explores the dynamics within families and close relations and the interaction between the family and the larger social system including schools, communities and the larger society. The program emphasizes the philosophy and principles of family life education. The degree enables graduates to identify families in conflict and families with issues in order to help resolve them. Because the subject of family studies is such a universal topic, there is a wealth of organizations designed to deal with family issues.
