Course summary
The Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Relations and Business is offered in both the classroom lecture and distance-learning modes. Professors who teach in the distance-learning mode are the same as those who teach in the classroom. The degree provides a broad-based interdisciplinary curriculum that enables the student to select thirty (30) credit hours of courses from the disciplines of business, communication, human behavior, and human development. The program is intended for the student who, while technically accomplished, seeks to further develop skills in human behavior and development. Graduates are prepared to fulfill professional roles that require an understanding of the interface between business principles and human relations skills in public and private settings. Graduates will enhance current job experiences in order to enter or expand their careers in such areas as healthcare, communications, research, human resources, counseling and training and education.
Program modules
The required graduate studies are RGS6035 Theory and Application of Research Methods 3 hours, RGS6036 Ethics for Decision Making 3 hours. The major course requirements are Business Administration Courses: 9 Hours, Communication Courses: 6 Hours, Counseling, Human Behavior and Development, Human Resources and Training, Psychology Courses: 9 Hours, Electives: 6 Hours.
Entry requirement for international students
General requirements apply to all masters’ degrees. The minimum amount of work beyond the bachelor's degree required for a master's degree is 36 semester hours excluding any prerequisite courses that may be required. All courses taken to satisfy course requirements for a master's degree must be taken at the graduate level. Twenty-four (24) semester hours applicable to the degree must be completed at Amberton University. The student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00. No more than six (6) semester hours of credit with a grade of C may be applied toward meeting requirements for a graduate degree. A grade of D may not be applied toward a graduate degree. The student will be allowed to graduate by meeting the requirements for the degree in force at the time of initial enrollment, provided the student is within twenty-four (24) hours of graduating and completes no less than twelve (12) hours per year.
