Course summary
This specialization provides licensed registered nurses with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing the opportunity to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing. The bridge curriculum incorporates the essentials of baccalaureate education for professional nursing practice and the essentials of master’s education for advanced practice nursing established by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Students will expand their knowledge of health care systems and policies, patient education, health promotion, and technology integration, with a focus on the design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of nurse education programs. Courses are taught in a prescribed sequence that builds on their newly developed knowledge and skills. This specialization also offers convenient features such as electronic textbooks and auto-registration for their entire sequence of courses. Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
