Course summary
This specialization offers students the opportunity to build on their current knowledge and advance their skills and career options through an individualized program. The core courses provide a strong foundation in the field, while a wide range of electives provides with the flexibility to develop a distinctive program of study based on their personal areas of interests and professional goals. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing human service management positions in social service, education, government, public safety, health care and military organizations.

Required modules include: HS5002 - Survey of Research in Human Development and Behavior, HS5006 - Survey of Research Methodology, HS5315 - Professional and Scientific Ethics, HS5317 - Social Systems, HS5318 - Scope of Human Services, HS5334 - Ethnic and Cultural Awareness, HS5990 - Integrative Project for Human Services Learners.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
