Course summary
This program provides the business knowledge and IT skills needed to make significant, far-reaching contributions to the organization. Choose a broad range of IT electives or focus their study in such areas as information security, networking, project management, health informatics, or enterprise architecture. Students will have access to Capella's virtual lab environment, which allows them to develop and test technology projects in an environment that closely mirrors real-life settings. People who choose this specialization are often working IT professionals who want to advance to supervisory or management positions or people with bachelor's degrees in related fields interested in pursuing senior-level or management careers in information technology.
Program modules
Core modules include: TS5004 - Technical Communications, TS5010 - Introduction to Enterprise Application Architecture, TS5011 - Managing People and Technology, TS5130 - System Development Theory and Practice, TS5160 - Business Foundations, TS5536 - Ethical and Legal Considerations in Information Technology. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is TS5900 - Information Technology Capstone - 4 quarter credits.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
