Course summary
The doctoral degree requires a total of 72 credits. At least 24 of these credits must be in dissertation research. An additional 6 credits must be taken to satisfy the program’s early research requirement. This leaves 42 credits, which will consist of courses, independent study, or additional dissertation research.
Entry requirement for international students
A master degree is required for Ph.D. A bachelor degree is required for Masters for admission. TOEFL scores 540 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 207 Computer-Based Test (CBT), 76 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 6.5 or higher (if applicable). Acceptable scores for all colleges except the College of Nursing are 550+ on the paper and pencil test, 213+ on the computer test, or 79+ on the Internet-based test. For College of Nursing applicants, the acceptable scores are 600+ on the paper and pencil test, 250+ on the computer test, or 100+ on the Internet-based test. Only Official GRE (or MAT) scores sent or verified by ETS will be accepted.
