Course summary

This program provides the opportunity to work closely with faculty advisors and postdoctoral research associates at the cutting-edge of basic and disease-relevant research. A major strength of the graduate program is its breadth, with active laboratory programs in a diverse array of areas including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, host immunity, autoimmunity, and translational and clinical immunology/microbiology. Graduate students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine often undertake interdisciplinary projects which draw on the scientific expertise of faculty in the basic science and clinical departments.

Entry requirement for international students

Students should hold a Masters degree in microbiology from a college or university of recognized standing, or present evidence of an equivalent education have successfully completed undergraduate courses in biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, mathematics, and physics or have successfully completed an undergraduate engineering curriculum The average GPA score is 3.73 and the average MCAT scores of 10.3 in Verbal, 11 in Physical Sciences and 11 in Biological Science. Students whose native language is not in English should have the TOFEL score.
