Course summary
The PhD Program in Educational Leadership is designed to train educational leaders who seek to develop and improve their skills and abilities in order to provide excellence in leadership. The initial focus of the program will be on the preparation of administrators and leaders for public and private schools. The program will also prepare educational leadership faculty for colleges and universities. The educational objectives of the PhD Program in Educational Leadership are: to meet educational needs of the state and nation in this rapidly growing area; to educate, train, and prepare individuals who possess the research and methodological skills to initiate, conduct, and evaluate independent research; to prepare educated citizens who are both able and willing to meet the leadership needs of both public and private sectors of society; to prepare liberally educated individuals who know how to think, reason, and apply knowledge that will enable them to work and use technology in an ever changing world.
Entry requirement for international students
International Admissions: Applicants for admission must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or must expect to receive the degree, before matriculating in the Prairie View A&M University Graduate School; The Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) must be taken within the first 12 hours; Minimum Test Scores: SAT - 820 or ACT - 17; TOEFL Score of 500 or better for applicants whose native language is not English.
