Course summary
This program of clinical mental health counselors work in numerous settings that provide education and mental health services to individuals, couples, and families. In terms of course work and professional preparation, clinical mental health counselors vary from marriage and family therapists in that the clinical counselor's focus is more on individual growth and development. Though clinical mental health counselors work with couples and families, it is more typical that their professional practice is individually focused.

Entry requirement for international students
Students submit a baccalaureate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution. A cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. 12 quarter (9 semester) credits in psychology or a related field. A completed application file, which includes an interview. Official Transcript Please arrange to have an official transcript from the institution which granted student bachelor’s degree sent directly from that institution. Student official transcript must indicate that a bachelor’s degree was conferred. Student may also submit official transcripts reflecting other undergraduate or graduate level education. A minimum of 18 semester hour credits (or 27 quarter-hour credits) of study in studio art which demonstrates proficiency and disciplined commitment in art making. Equivalency of non-academic studio art experience or art therapy based course work may be taken into account. Course work and experiences using a variety of art materials and processes is imperative. Course work and experience should include at least drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and 2-D design. A minimum of 12 semester hour credits (or 18 quarter-hour credits) of study in psychology, which must include developmental and abnormal psychology.
