Lingnan University, formerly Lingnan College, is one of the Top 10 liberal arts institutions in Asia, with the longest established tradition among the local institutions of higher education. The University was incorporated on 30 July 1999 following the enactment of the Lingnan University Ordinance. Its history, however, dates back to 1888, when its forerunner, the prestigious Lingnan University in Guangzhou, China, was founded.
