Studying at melbourne has completely changed my life. I have learnt a lot of things over here. I have learned to cook, be self dependent, save money, and be responsible. Besides education, coming over here and living alone is also a part of an education called life. I advice the international students to save their money rather than spending wrecklessly on anything. Its a beautiful place with many attractive things which you wish to buy, wear or eat etc but remember, you will be on your own here. So start saving right now and dont give in for attractive things.
Nepal is a third world but developing country. We have a very agents who really have link with abroad institutes. There have been many scams and cases of fraud over students education abroad, where the promise was not kept and the students were cheated of their money. However, i came through an agent which was build a good reputation of sending students abroad. I approached the agency and they briefed me about the courses, lifestyle and the places of study abroad. Very soon, after having met the requirements of student visa, i arrived in melbourne. I suggest, students to get all their documents in order and ready before filing for visa application as my visa application took a lot of time due to lack of documents. Its better to go through a professional who will assist you in every step.
I did not know about this until i came here. I came to know that scholarships are available to international students also but we have to fill an application form. The higher authorities will look into the matter and considering our case, they will do the needful.
I came here to serve the community. I love interacting with people and listening to their woes. My course is a lot of fun, we do not have such course in our country. Truly, studying abroad has lot of oppurtunities, we can choose from vast range of subjects and courses. I am looking forward to my voluntary placement this semester. I only study during the normal school hours of our tafe, we do not have any prescribed books and have no exams, however, we are encouraged to refer to any other books related to our fields. The tutors are well versed in their teachings and its a pleasure to study under them. I am very happy with my teachers.
I am working voluntarily for some charities, i do this in my free time, so i dont have time to join clubs and socieities however, we do have clubs and societies. Rent is expensive but living here together with a group of friends can cut down the cost. Besides, rent and transport, one can alway save money by cutting down their shopping, entertaiment costs etc. I am working part time at a call center which is again related to charity. We raise funds on behalf of charities. I really consider myself lucky in getting a job related to my field. Otherwise, there are some of my friends who are working in a completely different field like hospitality when they are studying community welfare.
My prospects of jobs have increased due to this course. I will join the alumni and keep in touch with my friends, however, i do not know much about how to join the alumni but during my last semester, i will have known enough on how to go about it.
