I love the university experience you get to meet heaps of new friends and its fun. one the most important things at uni is to make some friends and keep up wiht your weekly homework. Oh and also get involved with extracurricular activities
Macquarie is of moderate difficulty to enter, they can focus on finding undiscoverd talent which can afford some students opportunities they wouldnt get else where. I got into Macq on the basis of my HIgh School studies as well as my previous studies at the University of New South Wales.
I have not been able to secure any finiancial assitance nor do I know much about it. I know that Macquarie international has grants for students who want to study abroad which I intend to do next year. Some people I know have secured scholarships because they were originally from rural NSW
the best bits of my course is its variety and practicality, as im studying accounting with law. When I get Sick of writing essays and reading pages on pages of law textbooks I can move onto the numbers with accounting for a refreshing change and vice versa. Also as both these subjects are fairly practical this makes it abit more interesting to study.
The accounting and law faculties are quite helpful. Although the law faculty has recently cut down teaching hours due to funding cuts which can be quite frustrating. I have joined few students groups around campus. Im also on the Executive committee of a commerce based student society which has allowed me to make new friends and give back to the student population.
My job prosects have definately increased as a result of my studies. Im quite confident that I'll be able to gain meaningful employment once I graduate.
