Not knowing what you want to do or starting out as an undeclared major is totally fine. Iowa State offers so many majors and minors for students. Once you find the major you want to pursue as a career, take it by the horns and ride with it!
I enrolled at Iowa State as an Electrical Engineering major, but decided to try a different path during sophomore yea. Changing my major was, at first, a tough decision. But after changing it and looking at things, it wasn’t a tough decision after all. I did a lot of research on the majors offered at Iowa State to find the one that was for me before actually changing. When I contacted the Greenlee School (of Journalism and Communication) about what I wanted to do, they helped me find the major that would fit me. I had already completed my science, math, and international requirements. I will actually be graduating sooner than I would if I had continued my journey as an engineer.
Life at Iowa in the final year - I am looking forward to meeting new friends; because I know college is where you make your lifelong friends. I'm also looking forward to learning about Iowa State, getting closer to graduation, and out there in the work force. This year I went to several football and basketball games. It's great to get together with a group of friends and go to a game. I really enjoy being a part of Cyclone Alley. We get free props at each home game and everybody is insanely cheering on the Cyclones.
