ANU was the obvious choice to complete my university studies. After completing my year 12 studies in Canberra having the best University in Australia at my doorstep was too good an offer to refuse. My main piece of advice for anyone about to attend ANU is that you only get out what you put in.
University challenged me in a way that nothing else had academically. It means a great deal for me to be an ANU student, learning in the finest institution in Australia is certainly a privilege I do not take for granted.
For me the various students' associations helped with the transition from year 12 to university studies. Various publications ANUSA handed out helped me grasp to what university life was all about. Taking advantage of all the information I was being given helped quite a bit. Getting involved with the activities during o week and getting to know the students' who knew what university is like helped with the transition. In my time at ANU I have experienced the ups and downs university life has to offer. With the extra freedom comes more responsibility. Socially, Ive had a great time at ANU, getting involved in the o week activities and various parties have been some of the best experiences I've had at ANU. I have been an ANUESA (Engineering Students association) representative since my first year. I have been a first year rep, treasurer, public relations officer and this year I will be the webmaster.
