No matter which tafe you study in melbourne, the standard of all tafes are almost the same. You wont find much difference in the course. However, holmesglen from my personal experience has lived up to my expectation infact more. I have made some friends as a result of my interaction here .
After passing yr 12, i wanted to take a break but i decided to continue to study because, later on i might regret wasting my time. So instead of uni, i joined tafe. The process was a bit confusing i enrolling because i was doing an apprenticeship, however, the friendly staff guided me step by step.
I am not being sponsored but the fees are reasonable to me.
I am studyin Certificate III in Engineering - Commercial Air Conditioning. Its a good reason to escape the heat during pracs in summers. The maths bit makes it a bit tough. This job is very much in demand. I study normal hours like any student not a geek. i dont go to tafe much as its more practicial course. this course is a value for money.
We hardly get time to socialise as we are mostly at work. However, going for a drive and bbq on weekends or footy games are the top ticks. We are friendly with the international students and some are really nice. i am working so finding part time work has not been a problem but i reckon its easy to find jobs out here.
I plan to work full time as Completing an apprenticeship is the pathway to pursuing a highly rewarding career in an industry with both strong demand, and an increasingly sophisticated technology.... and again i will see if i make more friends and go to my uni more often i will join the alumni otherwise theres no reason joinin.
