I really enjoy attending University of Canberra. It is a small and friendly campus that is very welcoming. The lecturers and tutors are very helpful and they are always willing to listen to some new ideas and get into some very interesting discussions.
It was very easy to apply for a place at the University of Canberra. I recall that this was completed through my highschool. I simply received a letter stating whether I was accepted and then had to accept my place by a certain date.
There are numerous scholarship and funding oppportunities although most did not apply to me - I would not be eligible for them. The awards available were for women of indigenous background or those with dependent children and financial difficulties.
The lecturers and tutors are mostly very valuable. There are a lot who are very enthusiastic about the subject which inspired the students to be passionate and learn more - it makes for some very interesting class room debates. The courses are very good value for money just be prepared for the first two years to be a lot of theory work - this is the stage I am at now - but it is all very valuable information and builds your understanding of concepts so when you work on projects later you have a fuller knowledge.
I live in Canberra already I do not live on the university campus. I have part-time work.
I believe that the job prospects have increased through my studies. Employers in such a competitive economic environment are very careful about the employee they choose at job selection. Having a degree on your CV increases your opportunities ten fold.
