Excellent course. Really enjoyed it, though I didn't realise when I started the course was all research and no applied psychology. I assumed within a four year course we would learn some applied psychology.
Relatively easy to get in. I started in the Bachelor of Science (low UAI) and then transferred to the B Psych for second year.
No scholarships available and Centrelink pays very little, and Centrelink cuts out at a very low threshold. I worked 20 hours a week for my degree, which was sometimes tough, sometimes had financial hardship.
Overall very good. Sufficient study load, contact hours and course work. Some lecturers and tutors are better than others, but overall the quality is high.
Overall very good. I love being a part of the psychology scene and was president of the psychology society last year. I would like there to be more activities.
Once qualified as a psychologist the job prospects are excellent (I wish to stay in Australia). However, the bachelor of psychology does not qualify you for anything because it doesnt have any applied psychology, and to be a researcher a PhD is necessary. I would change the course and psychologist registration system if I could.
